A local hospital that has been part of Cardiff for more than 50 years.
Cardiff Veterinary Hospital has been at the same address on Harrison Street since 1968. It has stayed independent and family owned the whole way through, and the people who own it are the ones in the consult rooms.
It is a full small-animal hospital, with in-house pathology, on-site imaging and a dedicated surgical suite. It is also a busy practice, and that has its upside for you. A higher caseload means our vets see a wide range of conditions every week and keep their skills sharp. Whether you are coming in for a puppy’s first vaccination or sitting down for a harder conversation about an older pet, you are in experienced hands.
New patients are always welcome, and your pet’s records carry across to Cameron Park as well, so you are never tied to one location.
Visit either clinic. Your pet’s history follows them.
Cardiff and Cameron Park are the same practice, not two separate businesses. That means you can use whichever clinic suits you on the day without starting from scratch.
Shared vets. Our eight vets work across both locations, so you are not limited to one roster.
Shared digital records. Whoever you see, wherever you visit, they can already see your pet’s full history.
Move freely. Plenty of clients use both clinics depending on what is convenient. Either is fine.
The same family-owned team. No corporate chain, no rotating locums, no head office.

Familiar faces who remember your pet.
There are eight vets across the 2 hospitals, backed by a large and experienced nursing team. Plenty of them have been here for years, and several have built up particular clinical interests over that time, from dermatology and dentistry through to surgery and emergency care.
Our nurses are often the first person you speak to, and the one who rings the next day after surgery to see how your pet going. We would rather know you and your animal by name than by a number on a file. For a lot of our clients, that is the whole reason they have stayed.
Local to Cardiff and the wider Lake Macquarie area.
Most of our Cardiff clients come from these surrounding suburbs, though everyone is welcome regardless of where you live. If you are closer to Cameron Park, Edgeworth or Barnsley, our Cameron Park Hospital may be more convenient, and your records work at both.
